"That's not my" Series by Usborne Books

A little over a year ago I was introduced to Usborne Books and the first book we purchased was "That's not my Panda" It's a simple touch & feel book describing a panda through the touching of the book. Since then we have also purchased "That's not my truck" "That's not my hedgehog" and "That's not my penguin" All the books are well loved by my children and have wonderful craftsmanship, having been tossed, thrown, and stepped on; they are all still in great condition.

At the beginning of the summer, we decided it was time to makeover my daughter's old cozy coupe to give to my son.  I knew I wanted to customize it to match my father's antique 1955 Chevy BelAir so I set out to do one of the most fun DIY projects I've ever done.  I hope this tutorial helps others looking to do the same!

Supplies: 

-Spray paint in determined colors(make sure it is specified to work on plastic)

-Painters tape

-Trash bags

-Zip lock bags 

-New decals

Step #1: Tape up anything you don't want to be painted including Little Tykes emblems, the steering wheel, and the tires. 

Step #2: Apply base paint color. I started with the white as the white section would be easiest to tape up. 

Step #3: Tape up anything you want to keep the base paint color. I used trash bags to cover larger areas. Apply the second color.

Step #4: Repeat taping anything you want to remain the prior color with trash bags to cover large areas for any subsequent colors and applying spray paint. 

Step #5 Apply new decals & enjoy your like-new cozy coupe! I purchased ours from www.TheToyRestore.etsy.com

I highly recommend this project. It was very easy and simple to bring an old ugly toy car to look brand new!

Sage Spoonfuls Snackie & Munchie Bag Set

We received this snackie & munchie reusable bag set to review and within the first 24 hours we were in love. My son loves carrying the snackie bag around with him & having his snacks with him wherever we go. We brought both pieces of the set with us to the beach over the weekend and it was wonderfully convenient. Super easy to wash after a day of use, quickly dried & my 7 year old daughter begged to take her school snack in the giraffe munchie bag today.

KAWO Backpack of Beach Toys

When looking for beach toys for my son I had two requirements. #1 They needed to include trucks. #2 He needed to be able to carry them. I was skeptical when I found KAWO Backpack of Beach Toys. For a very affordable price, it includes 11 toys and has a mesh drawstring bag to carry them. Three of the toys are trucks, 5 are sand shapers, a shovel, a rake and a pale. I was happily surprised upon opening this set & so was my son. They are sturdy enough that they should last us all summer, the trucks actually roll in the sand and the pale & shovel are both very very sturdy. A wonderful set that will be with us all summer!
