Texas Crawfish & Music Festival- Old Spring Texas

Texas Crawfish & Music Festival- Old Spring Texas

While on vacation in Texas we found some time to check out the Texas Crawfish & Music Festival. It was our last day in town and somehow in the craziness of packing I forgot to bring the Tula with me so this entire trip was done with our stroller, which was a big mistake since it was naptime. However, the Crawfish festival was amazing, lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of vendors & just what my 6 year old loved…. Fair rides. They also had a petting zoo, rock wall, alligators, snakes, and like music. I highly suggest getting older kids the wristbands for rides. Everything within the actual fair area is paid for with tokens so make sure to stock up. The entire fair area is dirt and grass, so again the stroller was rough to navigate. Perfect spot for babywearing, and I highly recommend it!

Boston Logan Airport/Southwest Airlines

Boston Logan Airport/Southwest Airlines

We traveled Southwest Airlines via Logan airport to Houston Hobby on May 4th & May 9th. Now I cannot believe I am even going to begin to review traveling with Children because we were headed to Texas for a family wedding. There were 4 of us traveling, myself, my mother, my 6-year-old daughter & my 1-year-old son. We had 5 suitcases, 3 carry-ons, a car seat, a booster seat & a stroller. We checked all 5 bags(1 was full with just baby gear) and the booster seat. I wore my 1-year-old through the airport and everything else was stuffed on the stroller. If you have never traveled while baby wearing, you have no idea how accommodating TSA is. You get to go through the old metal detector. They do not make you remove the child for security. They will swab your hands for explosive residue & may go through your bag if you have liquids (my new pack of wipes caused a search for us). Now Southwest’s terminal at Logan airport is amazing because they have a wonderful little play area to get the kids energy out. I usually fly out of Providence airport, but I'll be heading to Boston from now on with how amazing that play area was. Southwest I have always found to be very very understanding and helpful with children. If you choose to keep your baby as a lap baby, they will make you remove them from the carrier for takeoff and landing. It is inconvenient but it is a regulation. Southwest is great when traveling with kids because if the flight isn’t full you can sometimes get an empty middle seat, which was our luck on the flight home!

The Dinosaur Place - Oakdale, CT

The Dinosaur Place
1650 Hartford New London Tpke, Oakdale, CT

We visited on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd. It was myself, my mother, my 6-year-old daughter, and my 1-year-old son. This is an awesome place! There are over 1.5miles of walking trails with 40 dinosaurs on the trails as well as some “What Am I” boxes. They trails are not stroller friendly at all, so I highly recommend wearing your baby on this trip! They also have an amazing splash pad(it wasn’t open during our visit though) a life-size maze(also not stroller friendly…. We had lots of problems pushing the stroller through) and an awesome playground. My daughter loved the maze & the playground since she’s older. My son loved watching the volcano, which goes off every few hours. The location has multiple public bathrooms, one near the splash pad & playground where in the summer they also have a cafĂ©. The second set of bathrooms is near the entrance where there is also a small gift shop and they sell ice cream & beverages. Next door you will find the Nature Arts Village where there is another option for food, a much larger gift shop, and other attractions. Overall I give this location a glowing review for families, however, it is definitely a location to favor baby wearing over strollers!
